My name is Shipha and am the founding director Girl Empowerment 256 whose major thrust is to empower the girl child in rural areas. Being a leader at church opened my eyes to the many challenges women face which directly affects how they view life and the goals they set for themselves. This way many have fallen short and I believe we can come together and empower eachother through talk, resource and prayer inorder to harness the best out of every single girl. We started this project in February 2017 while still at university with a goal of uplifting the girl child in the rural areas and fellow women.  This project mainly encompasses counseling for the girls in schools, churches and communities. It was borne out of concern about the moral decadence of this present generation and the lack of the much needed confidence for success in life. Our aim is to re-direct and re-position these girls to make sound decisions that will shape their lives for good. We also provide a platform that prepares them for the future as women, free of abuse and rejection. As a leader at church, we initiated trainings which focus on developing a healthy self-esteem, feminine etiquette, good grooming skills and living a balanced life to position women as nation builders.

Objectives:

1. To prepare girls in secondary schools for their future with respect to avoiding abuse and rejection.
2. To educate them on how to groom themselves so as to have healthy self esteem, good etiquette and also maintain a healthy hygiene.
3. To teach them how they can live balanced healthy and emotional lives, so as to become nation builders.

3. Love, Sex and Dating
4. HIV/AIDS
5. Sexual Abuse
6. Power of Choice
