Greetings to all our friends, and family local and international, teens, adults and partners. My name is Musenero Shipha the founding director and I would like to thank you for your love and support towards the vulnerable children. As an educator and counselor, I realized that there are huge numbers of girls who experience domestic violence, drop out of school, and end in early marriages. This has created a pattern in mothers not to expect much from their daughters and this low self-esteem generated in the end plays a big factor in the state of our community. Girl Empowerment 256 began in obedience to the voice of God, to serve the community, and empower infants, teens and orphans who in turn will grow into women of virtue.
For the past 4 years, I have been advocating for young girls and conducts sensitization drills in schools to offer the much needed life skills sessions for girls in Uganda. Growing up in a big family of 6 and being the last borne raised single handedly by our mother has been a defining tale full of highs and lows. Through my experiences, I purpose to be e a strong voice for girl child education, and dignity for all girls for this is the proven backbone of the Ugandan society.
I am a Sunday School Minister and a University Graduate in Procurement studies who has used her skills to empower girls and young women. In 2017, together with colleagues founded Girl Empowerment through which with a team of volunteers offer mentoring and personal development programs for girls 6 -16 years to empower teen girls with the confidence they need to become strong young women. Since 2017, Girls Empowerment through its leadership runs programs like, Sunday school drills and community sensitizations, that have helped over 200 teen girls grow in confidence, and overcome traumatic experieces. For the past 3 years, I has advocated for youth through various educational, youth and children projects in the community.
Iam a motivational speaker who is passionate about the success of young people. She believes that young people are valuable and must be mentored to excel in all areas of life. Many schools, churches and children's homes have trusted their youth to us. Our ultimate desire is to raise girls into women of virtue who give their all for their communities.
